About

Welcome to DC-3PHOTOS.COM! We’re dedicated to giving you the Very Best Douglas DC-3 Photographs, with a focus on digitizing and archiving, Original Film Negatives, Prints, and 35mm Color Slides.

When we started in 2021 our passion for digitizing Douglas DC-3, C-47, Dakota and R4-D Aircraft Photos drove us to create a global portal, to share photographs of Douglas DC-3 and her many type variants. Now we serve viewers all over the world, and are thrilled to share our passion for the GOONEY BIRD with you!

We hope you enjoy our efforts to digitally preserve film negatives, prints and 35mm slides of this wonderful, tried, and well-loved Aircraft. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us.

In April of 2021, Seattle-based, Aviation Historian and Author, Ed Davies, Entrusted our project with his extensive collection of over 1000 Original, DC-3, C-47, and related model variants, Negatives, and Slides.

The Negatives have been meticulously cataloged, annotated, and housed in acid-free plastic sleeves and paper negative envelopes, with each aircraft’s vital identification information.  Many include unique historical notations and knowledge related to the aircraft, provided by the photographer of the various stewards who have cared for, maintained, and added to the collection throughout the years.  Photographers include Ed Davies, Bill Larkins, Larry Smalley, Clay Jansson, Chalmers Johnson, Norm Taylor, Milo Peltzer.
